Catalina Valencia is a coach and trainer working in Costa Rica. She uses the Fascinate System in her work with directors, managers, leaders, and salespeople in corporations, financial service centers, technology companies, insurance, banking, and other industries throughout the Spanish-speaking world.
Catalina has recently taken on the role of Fascinate Training Ambassador for Programs in Spanish. She will be leading FCA trainings in Spanish beginning in December 2021. Fascinate is especially excited about this, as our ICF accreditation allows coaches worldwide to use FCA training to renew their ICF credential.
We wanted to learn a little more about what brought Catalina to Fascinate and her process for developing the FCA training program in Spanish. Here’s what she shared with us:

Catalina Valencia es coach y facilitadora que trabaja en Costa Rica. Utiliza el Sistema Fascinate en su trabajo con directores, gerentes, líderes y vendedores en corporaciones, centros de servicios financieros, compañías de tecnología, seguros, banca y otras industrias en todo el mundo de habla hispana.
Catalina ha asumido recientemente el papel de Embajadora de Capacitación Fascinate para programas en español. Ella liderará los entrenamientos de ACF en español a partir de diciembre de 2021. En Fascinate estamos especialmente entusiasmados con esto, ya que nuestra acreditación ICF permite a los coaches de todo el mundo utilizar el entrenamiento de ACF para renovar sus credenciales de la ICF.
Queríamos saber un poco más sobre lo que llevó a Catalina a Fascinate, y su proceso para desarrollar el programa de capacitación de ACF en español. Esto es lo que compartió con nosotros:
What value have you received from taking the Fascinate test?
It was a gift for me: the missing piece of the puzzle to understand and scientifically verify the value I have to give the world and to be able to better describe both my “light” and my “shadows.”
¿Qué valor has recibido al hacer la prueba Fascinate?
Me dio un regalo: la pieza del rompecabezas que faltaba para entender y comprobar científicamente el valor que tengo para dar al mundo y poder describir mejor tanto mis luces como mis sombras.
What inspired you to become an FCA?
When I took the test the first time, I told Karla Blanco, my friend who recommended me to I take it, “Please tell Sally that I want to bring this tool to the Spanish-speaking market!”
I didn’t know that I could be certified. In fact, I remember the day the mail arrived with the possibility of getting certified. I confess that I did not have the money at that time, but my desire was so great that I asked for a loan because I could not miss this opportunity to share these tools that really change lives, with the world.
I watched my clients take the test and have realizations and significant transformations in their lives. They came to tell me that the test helped them have more inner peace and gave them the opportunity to be more authentic.
¿Por qué te convertiste en ACF?
Cuando hice la primera vez el test le dije a Karla Blanco, mi amiga que me recomendó hacer el test, ”¡Por favor, dile a Sally que yo quiero llevar al Mercado de habla hispana esta herramienta!”
No sabía que me podía certificar. De hecho, recuerdo el día que me llegó el correo con la posibilidad de certificarme, confieso que no tenía el dinero en ese momento, pero mi deseo era tan grande que pedí un préstamo porque no podía dejar pasar esta oportunidad de compartir con el mundo estas herramientas que realmente logran cambiar vidas.
Había visto cómo a algunos de mis clientes que les había recomendado hacer el test tenían tomas de consciencia y transformaciones significativas en su vida. Se acercaban a decirme que el test les ayudaba a tener más paz interior y darse la oportunidad de ser más auténticos.
Sally always says “Different is better than better.” What does ‘different is better’ mean to you?
They say that I make “fascination” fascinating. My superpower is to create gamification tools so that people can have meaningful experiences that allow them to remember that their word is their power and that they can be fascinating by honoring their lives and the lives of the people they love.
Sally siempre dice “Diferente es mejor que mejor”, ¿qué significa para ti “diferente es mejor”?
Dicen que hago la fascinación fascinante, mi superpoder es crear herramientas de gamification para que las personas puedan llevarse experiencias significativas que les permitan recordar que su palabra es su poder y se apropien de ser fascinantes para honrar su vida y la de las personas que aman.
How can the Fascinate system help people navigate today’s business and social environments?
Today people need to understand each other.
They need to discover their own emotions, their light and their shadows, know how to better communicate with their bosses, develop skills to influence collaborators and achieve results.
Today, more than ever, we need to be more empathetic, respect others more, understand that we are all different and that differences elevate and empower us.
¿Cómo puede el sistema Fascinate ayudar a las personas a navegar por el clima empresarial y social actual?
Hoy en día la gente requiere entenderse.
Descubrir sus propias emociones, sus luces y sombras. Y además ser más empáticos efectivos en el trabajo remoto, saber cómo comunicarse mejor con sus jefes, desarrollar habilidades para influir en los colaboradores y conseguir resultados.
Hoy más que nunca necesitamos ser más empáticos, respetar más al otro, entender que todos somos diferentes y que son las diferencias las que nos elevan y potencian.
Why did you decide to lead the Fascinate Coaching program for Spanish speakers around the world?
Because I want to follow my desire to create a movement in which we can bring to the world the change we want to see.
¿Por qué decidiste liderar el programa Fascinate Coaching para hispanohablantes en todo el mundo?
Porque quiero seguir mi deseo de crear un movimiento en el que llevemos el cambio en el mundo que queremos ver.
How is the FCA training program different from other certification programs? What advice would you give someone who is considering getting certified?
The simplicity of the test, its immediate practical application, the interest it arouses in people to talk about their favorite topic: themselves.
In addition, people understand very quickly how they can be more of who they really are without imitating anyone and pretending to be what they are not. And they feel the desire to apply it in all areas of their life and to want everyone around them to do so.
My advice would be that they first experience the test for themselves, to realize the power and put it into practice.
After taking the test they’ll be able to see how powerful this tool can be for their current clients and prospects and how it can facilitate scheduling appointments, recovering investment and building revenue.
¿En qué se diferencia el programa de entrenamiento de ACF de otros programas de certificación? ¿Qué consejo le daría a alguien que esté considerando la certificación?
La simpleza del test, su aplicación práctica inmediata, el interés que despierta en las personas hablar de su tema favorito: ellos mismos.
Además, la gente entiende muy rápido cómo puede ser más de quien verdaderamente son sin imitar a nadie y fingir lo que no son. Y sienten el deseo de aplicarlo en todas las áreas de su vida y de querer que todos quienes están a su alrededor lo hagan.
Sobre mi consejo, sería que primero experimenten la prueba en ellos mismos, que noten el poder y lo pongan en práctica.
Luego que hagan un listado de sus futuros clientes, vean lo poderoso que puede ser esta herramientas para sus clientes actuales y comiencen a agendar con sus clientes porque es muy fácil recuperar la inversión.
Is there anything else you would like us to know about your business, mission, or your relationship with the Fascinate System?
My dream is we create a movement of fascination in the Spanish-speaking community that allows us to give one million tests and generate a culture of fascination.
Also, I want to allow all of those who take the test to be able to win the minds and hearts of all the people they care about by being themselves.
In my ideal world: All people should feel like they are protagonists of their lives, because people who feel like protagonists do not doubt themselves. They connect with whom they truly are and grow, whether in their business, in their relationships, or in every decision they make.
¿Hay algo más que te gustaría que supiéramos sobre su negocio, misión o su relación con el sistema Fascinate?
Mi sueño es que en la comunidad de habla hispana creemos un movimiento de fascinación que nos permita llegar a hacer pronto 1 millón de pruebas y podamos llevar cultura de fascinación.
Además, que quienes hagan la prueba permitan que todos seamos capaces de ganarnos la mente y el corazón de todas las personas que nos importan siendo nosotros mismos.
En mi mundo ideal: Todas las personas se sientan protagonistas de sus vidas
Porque una persona que se siente protagonista no duda de ella misma, conecta con quien verdaderamente es y crece, ya sea en sus negocios, en sus relaciones, o en cada decisión que toma.
