Your DORMANT Advantage is your most exhausting form of communication. It’s how you are least likely to surpass others. Tread carefully in these areas, because this form of communication is your “quicksand.” And it will cost you a disproportionate amount of time and energy.

Here’s a look at what it means to have a Dormant Trust Advantage…

Avoid situation that require you to repeat the same process over and over. Instead, find ways to succeed using your natural mode of communication, your “wellspring,” or Primary Advantage.

Since you have a Dormant Trust Advantage, your personality adds value in a very different way. Here’s why using it feels like quicksand…

You have an entrepreneurial approach to your career. At work, you dislike falling into ruts, or performing the same duties every day. You appreciate variety and actively seek new ways
 to accomplish a problem.

  • You generally know how to persuade others with your self-expression and enthusiasm.
  • You can enjoy brainstorming sessions.
  • You avoid regular routines.

Others might be attracted to your expressive and curious nature, or come to you for new ideas. You are unlikely to be seen as boring.

As Catalyst, I have a question. I communicate easily through an emotional connection. What about communicating with a person who is a passion dormant? How to recognize this situation and what to do to make a connection to this person?

Totally get this, as a dormant trust person!

I value trust, yet if my messages are based on it, I feel somehow drained.

I thought it was because it pulled me into thinking about those who are not trustworthy. So this article explains why as a Catalyst I have more beneficial ways to communicate.

Thanks for this- for me it alleviates soooo much guilt over my lack of consistency. And why I loved creating evergreen promotional campaigns for clients and wanted to stab myself in the eyes executing them years 2-6. Ugh finally got too fried to even do it anymore. Your previous email about the dark side of mine – The anarchist – really shows up. And it’s funny how accurate your assessment is because mine is Rock Star and I’m a singer songwriter and have fronted bands since I was 12. The only things I don’t loathe repeating (within reason) are songs.

It was timely that this showed up in my email today. I’m passion/innovation dominant, trust dormant. The other day I had an argument with my husband, who is probably Trust dominant, about how to organize our freezer to reduce waste and save on groceries. We agreed on the desired outcome, but not the system. I’ll spare the details, but we were basically on different planets and I only won because I’m the one who manages the kitchen, shopping, and cooking. It was funny and not so funny at the same time. I’m sending him a copy of this article to explain myself.
